Josef Schuster: Attack was »Act of Securing Existence«

The President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Josef Schuster, has commented on the Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, nuclear scientists and military targets.

Iran was »the mastermind behind the terror and threat against Israel,« he declared. »In the middle of Tehran, a backtimer is intended to herald the annihilation of the Jewish state. The mullah regime directly supported the Hamas attack on October 7th, 2023«, Schuster said.

Tehran also actively supported the Houthis, who were attacking Israel on a daily basis, and Hezbollah, which was seeking to wipe out Israel, he stated.

»Since October 7th, Iran has launched direct attacks against Israel several times, which were repelled with the help of Israel’s Arab partners,« the President of the Central Council explained. »If this Iranian regime—as everything indicates—is now on the verge of completing a nuclear bomb, despite all international efforts of the past decades, one should refrain from lecturing Israel.«

For Israel, the attack on Iran was an »act of securing its existence,« Schuster emphasized. »The German government must stand firmly by Israel’s side in this situation«, he demanded.

»A nuclear-armed Iran would clearly also threaten the security of Germany and Europe,« Schuster stressed. »There is no reason why this act should lead to antisemitic rallies or worse—but history shows that this is to be feared.« ja
